Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum

At St. Joan’s Academy, our dream and vision are to provide a unique and transformative approach to learning and teaching. We are committed to offering the highest quality care and education, nurturing children holistically—intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. Our goal is to be a model institution both within our community and across the country.

We strive to create a safe, healthy, and inspiring learning environment, where children are guided by professional educators and caregivers as they grow in all dimensions—Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Embracing the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC)

St. Joan’s Academy has fully embraced Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), following the 2-6-3-3 system from Pre-Primary (PP1 & PP2) to Grade 9. The school is approved by the Ministry of Education to offer Junior Secondary School (JSS), and we proudly provide a boarding facility approved in 2022.

Our CBC program aims to develop learners who are self-driven, ethical, responsible, and globally competitive, while also nurturing creativity and practical problem-solving.

Early Years (Playgroup – Pre-Primary: Ages 3–5)

Our Early Years Education Program is designed to support the emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development of young learners. Teaching younger children requires expertise and compassion, and our dedicated team brings both into every classroom.

Learning at this stage is play-based, exploratory, and developmentally appropriate, in line with the Ministry of Education guidelines. Our program helps learners build self-confidence, independence, and foundational skills that prepare them for lifelong learning.

Parental Engagement

We actively encourage parental involvement in the learning journey. Parents receive regular updates on learner progress and are invited for end-of-term consultations with class teachers. We also welcome parents to reach out during the term for discussions on their child’s development.

We believe that homework completed in a supportive home environment contributes significantly to academic achievement. A strong home-school partnership reinforces the value of education in a child’s life.
